Plans for the sixth phase of the 600 million, 2,850-home redevelopment of south Acton estate have been approved.

The green light was given for the next phase of the Acton Gardens scheme which will deliver 308 homes, community facilities and public open space.

The project, a joint venture between Countryside and L&Q, is one of the largest residential regeneration schemes in London and is set to transform the 21-ha site of the former south Acton estate into a new urban quarter.

When complete, of the scheme’s 2,850 new homes, 50% will be allocated as affordable. The project will also include retail, community facilities and public open spaces.

Construction of phase five, designed by architects HTA, started in March 2016 and is currently under way, with completion expected by the end of 2018. It is to deliver 271 new homes across four blocks, each with their own private balcony or terrace. It will include a 12-storey building, which will mark the entrance to the development from the west.

Overall completion of the 21 multi-phased scheme is scheduled for 2026.
