A cafe based at a care centre in Acton is offering support to people with dementia and their families and friends.
Ealing Council’s Forget Me Not dementia cafe, at the Michael Flanders Centre on Church Road, is open one Sunday a month to give local people affected by the disease a chance to share their experiences in a relaxed environment, as well as making friends and finding out about available services.
The council’s dementia champion, Councillor Penny Jones, said: “Having cared for someone with dementia, I know how important it is to have a place like the Forget Me Not cafe, where you can meet people with similar experiences and get practical help and support.”
The cafe is run by centre staff and experienced volunteers. Upcoming opening dates include 20 March and 17 April.
