The confectioner Ferrero has been confirmed as the occupier of the G1 building at a 9.3-ha site in Greenford, Ealing, which was formerly the headquarters of healthcare company, GlaxoSmithKline.
In November 2014, planning permission was granted to Stolkin Greenford – a company established specifically for the purpose of regenerating the site – to transform it into a mixed-use scheme, creating homes, as well as open space, retail, leisure and community uses, and enhancing cycling and pedestrian links. The Grade II-listed Glaxo House will be converted into residential units.
A programme of refurbishment and fit-out is to start on Ferrero's new headquarters, as staff prepare to move from their current location in Watford to occupy G1, in Greenford Square.
A spokesperson from Ferrero said: “This heralds a new phase for our business in the UK and we believe the move will create new opportunities and help meet the future needs of our company. We are looking forward to being an active member in the community and to working closely with Ealing Council and Stolkin Greenford to bring value to the local area.”
