Ealing in London launches

Around 100 delegates attended the launch of the fifth edition of Ealing in London magazine last night (26 June), with hospitality sponsored by DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
Attending the networking event were developers already investing in Ealing and those keen to take up fresh opportunities in the borough, along with senior regeneration staff from Ealing Council.
Matt Williams, general manager of DoubleTree by Hilton, welcomed attendees to the hotel, which underwent a Hilton refurbishment just over a year ago – representing an investment of £10 million.
William Oddie, project manager at British Land, which last year gained single ownership of the Ealing Broadway Shopping by buying the Crystal House Block from a Northern Irish-based private investor for £28.8 million, said: "At Christmas we bought the block which faces onto Broadway, so for the first time in its history one party owns the shopping centre, which for us is good news because it allows us to do things more quickly.
Councillor Julian Bell, who was recently re-elected as leader of Ealing Council, said: “Well, I would say this, but Ealing really is the place to be. It’s very exciting what’s happening at the moment – we will effectively become a Zone 1 borough in terms of travel times when Crossrail comes in 2019 and it’s fantastic to see all the regeneration projects which will continue over the next four years.
“By 2018 we’ll have the new Crossrail station, we are very much hoping we will have a new cinema, we will have completed renovation work at Pitzhanger Manor and Walpole Park and St George's Dickens Yard development will have pretty much finished.
“We would not be able to do this without many of you in the room here today. It’s vital that we get the jobs and homes that you will provide in the future and that’s something we’re very excited to develop with you.
“I’d just like to say a big thanks to 3Fox. It’s been a very productive partnership over the last four years and we look forward to another four years plus. I’m sure we will be able to continue to develop that partnership.”
