The Ealing business improvement district has hosted a sporting weekend at Haven Green in Ealing.
Velocity:Ealing, on 21 and 22 June, featured competitions on a street Velodrome track, as well as King Ramp skateboard workshops, BMX trick sessions and gym displays.
Pro athletes led demonstrations, with members of the public also encouraged to take part.
Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “Velocity:Ealing was a great opportunity for local people to get out in their community and enjoy a fantastic day of free sport.
“This was the first event of its kind in Ealing. The council is constantly working towards improving safety for cyclists and making Ealing a friendlier place to ride a bike, so I hope this event inspires more people than ever to take to two wheels.”
The event was managed by the BID’s ‘Make it Ealing’ brand, sponsored by Ealing Council, the Collective, Cathedral Group Homes, St James Group and St George West London.
Ann Hunter, chief executive of Ealing Broadway BID, said the event was a “great opportunity to activate and promote our town centre and local businesses”.
