Catalyst Housing has paid 14 million to the West London Mental Health Trust for a development site in Hanwell, Ealing.

The developer has outline planning permission for 270 new homes, of which 200 are for outright sale and 70 are affordable.

Director of business development at Catalyst Housing, Tom Titherington, told Ealing in London magazine: "We are now looking at the outline plan and working with Ealing Council to maximise the use of the site to see if we can increase the percentage of affordable housing while maintaining profit levels."

"This is right in the heart of our area of operation, a strategic site linking to our work in Southall a mile away, where we are providing 1,000 homes, and it cements our relationship with Ealing as a key multi-tenure development partner."

Ealing Council's director of regeneration and planning policy, Lucy Taylor, added: "It's a fantastic opportunity to bring new homes to this part of the borough in a well-planned development with a trusted partner.
