Major construction work has begun on the £3 million transformation of Southall's Dominion Centre.
As part of the upgrade, the centre’s existing hall, meeting rooms and reception area will be refurbished, and a new extension, café and learning room for adult-education sessions will be built.
The new-look centre will house Southall Library, a community centre, and services for people with disabilities.
Ealing Council leader Julian Bell said the works marked “the latest step” in the multi-million pound regeneration of Southall.
“It is an exciting opportunity to create a first class community centre and library,” he said.
“I am particularly delighted that the centre will also offer a range of activities and services for local residents with disabilities in a fully accessible building.”
