DHL snaps up Park Royal base

Logistics giant DHL has signed a 10-year lease on a 61,720 sq feet unit at the Premier Park Estate in Park Royal.
Developer SEGRO said the facility would house DHL’s international parcel business operations and was three times the size of the firm’s previous base on the park.
Alan Holland, SEGRO's business unit director for Greater London, said the DHL deal was part of a growing trend of postal courier companies requiring buildings of approximately 30,000 sq feet to 70,000 sq feet, located close to major conurbations to service “last mile” urban distribution activities.
“Premier Park is an ideal location for customers like DHL,” he said.
“The premises had recently become available and there was considerable interest from other companies. DHL was able to move quickly and we're delighted to welcome the company to Premier Park."
Last year, DHL Aviation UK leased 81,000 sq feet at the Heathrow Cargo Centre from the Airport Property Partnership, a joint venture between SEGRO and Aviva Investors.
