A community arts project run by housing association A2Dominion has welcomed more than 5,500 visitors since its launch.

The project, OPEN Ealing, was created as part of the £136 million regeneration of the Green Man Lane estate in Ealing. It saw the transformation of a redundant office block into a venue for more than 250 art sessions to date, spanning a range of cultural activities including painting, drawing, printing, music, opera, dance, art lectures, crafts, sculpture, photography, film-making and children’s workshops.

David Price, A2Dominion’s regeneration director, said: “We’re delighted with the success of OPEN Ealing and the level of involvement from the local community. This project shows that successful regeneration isn’t just about delivering high-quality homes. It’s about engaging communities and getting people involved.”

OPEN Ealing is managed by the West Ealing Arts Project Committee and has been run by volunteers.

A2Dominion and developer Rydon are working in partnership with the London Borough of Ealing to deliver 700 new homes and community facilities, designed by Conran & Partners.
